Here's a full list of the workshops running at our event on 14th and 15th December 2024. Please click the links or use the email addresses to book your place on a workshop.
In this workshop, you'll learn Fair Isle Knitting by knitting samples of colour work on straight needles. You'll learn how to change colours across a row, how to twist yarn, how to test tension, how to read a chart, how to follow a Fair Isle pattern and how to weave in ends. The workshop is for Intermediate level knitters, and there's a minimum age of 12 years old. This workshop is now full on the Saturday.
Your tutor is Monica Russel from The Knitknacks who is a very experienced knitting designer, tutor and book author.
COST: This workshop costs £16 which covers the tuition, worksheet and yarn.

Try your hand at spinning using a drop spindle, an ancient tool for converting fibre into yarn. You will be introduced to fibre handling and shown how to start spinning using the park and draft method. Plenty of supported practise time will follow so you can get to grips with your new hobby. At the end of the class you can take your spindle and fibre home to carry on spinning! This workshop is now full on the Saturday.
The workshop is run by Fiona from A Little Bit Sheepish, who knits, spins, designs, felts and teaches fibre arts.
COST: This workshop costs £25 which includes a kit with a drop spindle, 100g of Bluefaced Leicester fibre and spinning instructions, all boxed up and ready to go.

Tunisian Crochet for beginners will cover the basics of this fab technique. We'll work through some of the basic techniques and get you going on a small project. Basic crochet skills are needed. The cost of £30 includes yarn for the project and a Tunisian crochet hook.

Using a macramé board, you’ll learn how to design and make a macramé bracelet that actually fits. Using several different knotting techniques, you'll be shown how to make and finish the bracelet with a sliding knot - with no cut ends showing! Also, make a pair of matching earrings. You'll take away a finished bracelet and earrings, full instructions and a macramé board so you can make another project at home. Perfect for last minute Christmas presents!
The workshop is run by Rosie Rees from Moon Beads.
COST: The workshop costs £15 which covers the tuition, full instructions, beads and threads, plus a macramé board to take away.

Join the fun and create 2 colourful Christmas Baubles to hang on your tree in time for Christmas! We'll begin to create our bauble covers, using the 3 different colour yarns provided, learning how to crochet in the round. This workshop is ideal for people with a basic knowledge of crochet who are looking to create a handmade project to decorate their tree. The stitches used in this project are UK double and treble crochet.
The workshop is run by Fiona Field of Cosy Rosie UK who is an expert in crochet and a very experienced tutor.
COST: This workshop costs £18 which includes a full-colour workbook, the yarn, 4mm crochet hook and 2 baubles to practice on.

Using wool fibres and a needle you'll learn the techniques to create a landscape in needlefelt. This includes all materials and tools used in the workshop. Further tools and materials are available for purchase to take home if required. This workshop is suitable for beginners or those with some experience.
The workshop is run by Frances Mason of New Forest Mohair who is an experienced teacher and felt artist.
COST: This workshop costs £15. All the equipment and materials will be available to complete the workshop and can be taken home at the end.

During this workshop, you'll complete a needle felted landscape which will be around A5 size, which we'll complete in 1¼ hours. The cost includes all the materials you'll need to complete this picture. No experience is required.

Build on your Tunisian crochet skill set with more stitches, changing colour and learning to increase and decrease. You must know the basics of Tunisian crochet - the principle of how it works and how to make basic stitches. Perfect if you've been on Tunisian Crochet for Beginners, but this is not a requirement. Please bring your preferred Tunisian crochet hook for DK weight yarn (5-6mm suggested).

Expand your skills with knitting lace and adding beads. We'll work on a swatch covering lace techniques and options for adding beads. You can practise your skills at home with the cowl pattern, yarn and beads provided. Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl, cast off. Please bring 4.0mm needles of your choice for the swatch (which will be worked flat).

THIS WORKSHOP IS NOW FULLY BOOKED
Who would not want to make this adorable Christmas Mouse with her hat and glittery
bauble? You'll learn the techniques and tricks of how make a basic wire frame from pipe cleaners, add shapes and features/colours just by using a felting needle. You will receive a full kit which includes all the materials (felting wool, glue-in glass eyes, pipe cleaner) and the little accessories (hat and bauble). Full colour step-by-step instructions, felting needles and an EcoWool felting mat are included too.
Your tutor will be Steffi or Carol from The Makerss. Both are experts in needle felting and have a style of teaching that is supportive, fun filled and inspiring.
COST: This workshop costs £20 which includes a full kit and tuition. Additional tools will be available during the workshop such as scissors and glue.
